A spectacular view over the city, the port and the surrounding area opens up from the 106-metre-high platform of the main church "St. Michaelis". The "Michel", as it is affectionately called by locals, is one of the most imposing buildings in Hamburg and has an eventful history behind it: it was built three times between 1647 and 1912 and completely destroyed twice.
