Right beside culture, shopping and business
The H+ Hotel Zürich is located in the Zürich-West business area, opposite the Letzigrund-Arena. Our proximity to the transport hub “Hardbrücke” means we are close to the motorway network, which is just five minutes’ drive away. The airport is about 12 kilometres away, so it takes around 20 minutes to drive by taxi or hire car. Alternatively, you can use public transport, and go about half an hour by S-Bahn rail and tram to the stop “Freihofstrasse”. Then it’s about five minutes’ walk to the H+ Hotel Zürich From the main train station, it’s about 20 minutes by tram, and you should allow about a quarter of an hour for the journey by taxi.
The nearby tram stop provides a direct, straightforward connection to the city for sightseeing or business trips. It is about 15 minutes to Paradeplatz, the heart of the Swiss banking industry. From there, you can walk five minutes to the Altstadt or Old Town, where you can see the Romanesque church “Grossmünster”. With its characteristic double towers, it is the trademark of the city of Zürich. You should also visit the Baroque Rathaus or Town Hall, which the river Limmat flows under. The building was built freestanding over the river and is renowned for a black marble doorway and richly-decorated windows.
If you want to go shopping, you can go straight from Paradeplatz to Bahnhofstrasse, which is about 15 minutes from the H+ Hotel Zürich. This world-famous shopping street, on the site of the former city fortifications, offers numerous boutiques, watch shops and department stores. In summer you can stroll to Lake Zürich with an ice cream, or a mulled wine or hot chocolate in winter.
If you want to find out more about the cultural history of the area, we recommend the Swiss National Museum. It is the most-visited historical museum in Switzerland, and displays craft and everyday items from ancient history to the present day. There are also regular special exhibitions on socially relevant subjects. Landesmuseum Zürich, or Zürich State Museum is the home of the Swiss National Museum, and the building is reminiscent of a fairytale castle. It is located opposite the main train station and is 20 minutes away by tram, with one change form the H+ Hotel Zürich.
Unwind in China Garden Zürich, a gift from the Chinese partner city of Kunming. The traditional southern China gardens have pavilions and a water palace with lake terrace, where you can admire pictures and still life in open galleries. It takes about 35 minutes to get there by tram from the H+ Hotel Zürich, or about 25 minutes by car.
Rheinfall Schaffhausen, is a tip for nature lovers - at 23 metres high and 150 metres wide, it contains the most water of any waterfall in Europe. A fascinating view over the mass of water between the cliffs opens up from several platforms. Rheinfall Schaffhausen waterfall is just a few kilometres from Lake Constance, and the drive from the H+ Hotel Zürich takes about a quarter of an hour.
