Our accommodation is located in a particularly green part of the city. Just a short walk will take you to the extensive city park with its artificial ponds, the proud Bismarck Tower monument dating back to 1910 and numerous planted walking paths.

Reach for the stars in the nearby planetarium. With the help of state-of-the-art video projectors, you can experience the universe up close and personal on your very own journey through space, with its radiant solar system, endless galaxies and distant planets.

About 20 minutes' walk from our hotel is the oldest church in Bochum. The Probsteikirche St. Peter and Paul was built by Charlemagne in the 8th century, houses stylish frescoes and can be visited during church services.

Families with children will have their nerves tested at the Movie Park Germany theme park near Bottrop-Kirchhellen, 44 km away. Adventurous rollercoasters, refreshing white water rides and friends from the world of cartoons such as SpongeBob, Dora and Jimmy Neutron await you here. As is typical of the Ruhr region, discover historical witnesses to the turbulent times of the steel industry. The Landschaftspark Nord in Duisburg is home to a disused steelworks covering an area of 180 hectares with an accessible gasometer, historic factory halls and an old ore storage bunker. Within the green area in Duisburg-Meiderich there is a climbing garden, a diving center and a high ropes course.

Incidentally, Duisburg was the setting for the famous crime series with detective Horst Schimanski. Former filming locations such as the picturesque inner harbor, the zoo with Australian koala bears and the Wedau district with its sports park and soccer stadium can still be visited today.

The Catholic provost's church "St. Peter and Paul" from the 11th century is the oldest and, until 1655, the only church in Bochum. in 1547, the provost's church was rebuilt as a Gothic hall church.
