The famous Hundertwasser House immediately captures your gaze. The residential complex on the corner of Kegelgasse and Löwengasse breaks away from the traditional architectural style of houses in Vienna. It is strikingly colourful and lush with greenery. When the building was completed in 1985, some 250 trees and shrubs were planted on balconies, roofs and overhangs. These "tree tenants" are now magnificent additions to the splendour of the Hundertwasser house. The Hundertwasser House stands out with its slanted columns, spherical shapes, tilted elements, curved arches, diverse materials, and an array of windows.
The Vienna Hundertwasser House is a social housing project managed by the municipality, comprising 52 residential units.
