The shell of the budget-friendly design hotel of the H2 brand in Erfurt has been completed. The hotel of the H-Hotels Group is scheduled to open next winter. The H2 Hotel has 213 rooms, including 183 double rooms and 30 four-bed rooms for families and groups of friends. The so-called Hub is located on the ground floor. In addition to the lobby, it includes a self-service restaurant with a front cooking station and comfortable seating for relaxing. The H2 Hotel offers barrier-free and wheelchair-accessible rooms. The Hub is also wheelchair accessible.

Construction of the new building on Neuwerkstrasse in Erfurt began in July 2022. Project developer OFB is celebrating today's topping-out ceremony together with the Lord Mayor of the City of Erfurt, Andreas Bausewein, Senior Vice President Development of the H-Hotels Group, Iris Welteke, Area Manager East of the H-Hotels Group, Lars Ziegenhorn, numerous project participants from local politics, administration and business, planners and representatives of the trades. The five-storey building closes a gap in the urban development in the immediate vicinity of the cathedral in the western part of the old town. Five of the hotel's 49 underground car park spaces are equipped with e-charging points. OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH is aiming for gold sustainability certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the entire project.

"The Thuringian state capital with its UNESCO World Heritage status and the university is a destination for short and business travellers as well as holidaymakers. Our stylish, modern H2 Hotel with its excellent price-performance ratio offers the ideal infrastructure for this target group," says Senior Vice President Development of the H-Hotels Group, Iris Welteke. "Our range of food and drinks in the self-service restaurant with outdoor terrace is attractive for hotel guests and locals alike, especially as they can use the area with free high-speed Wi-Fi as a coworking space," adds Lars Ziegenhorn, Area Manager East of the H-Hotels Group. The H2 Hotel Erfurt is the Group's third hotel in Thuringia after the H+ Hotel Erfurt-Linderbach and the H+ Hotel & Spa in Friedrichroda. The family-run company from Bad Arolsen in Hesse will soon be opening further hotels under its H2 brand in Vienna and Saarbrücken.
