Budget-friendly H2 Hotel Wien Schönbrunn celebrates its grand opening
The H-Hotels Group today celebrated the opening of the H2 Hotel Wien Schönbrunn. It is the first of this budget- friendly hotel brand and also the company's fifth in Austria. The 178 double rooms and 84 four-bed rooms on the second to eleventh floors offer modern design and comfort for business guests, groups, city hoppers, families and groups of friends.
The colour concept in the rooms creates a relaxed feel-good atmosphere with shades of blue, grey and brown. Unykat Interior Design GmbH is responsible for the interior design. "Guests appreciate the spacious rooms and the magnificent view of the metropolis. I am particularly proud of our team, which has received extremely positive guest reviews on the Internet since the pre-opening in March," says Thomas Haas, CEO of the H-Hotels Group, during the opening ceremony.
The centre of the hotel is the so-called hub on the second floor: next to the reception, comfortable seating, free high-speed internet and the restaurant invite you to work and linger. In addition to the breakfast buffet in the morning, the front cooking station with self-service offers hotel guests and Viennese guests drinks and dishes such as Altwiener beef goulash with butter dumplings, vegan tarte flambée NoTonno with red onions and sweet snacks such as Kaiserschmarrn with plum roaster until 10 pm.
As the H2 Hotel Wien Schönbrunn is located directly next to the Vio Plaza shopping centre, hotel guests can work out in the neighbouring gym and stroll around the retail outlets.
The project developer Real-Treuhand Immobilien and the H-Hotels Group have focussed on sustainable construction. The Wiental collector canal is used to cool and heat the building. Photovoltaic technology is integrated on the roof and façade. The hotel is also equipped with LED lights and bathroom fittings with flow restrictors, for example. There are also four e-charging points under the 50 underground car park spaces. Thanks to these aspects, the H2 Hotel Wien Schönbrunn has been awarded the sustainable building certification LEED® Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
The H2 Hotels are generally characterised by a modern design, a functional room concept and rooms at fair prices. The hotels have barrier-free and wheelchair-accessible rooms. The hotel group has a total of six brands in its portfolio - from the premium brand Hyperion to the H.ostel. In Austria, the family-run company also operates the H+ Hotel Wien, the Hyperion Hotel Salzburg, the H+ Hotel Salzburg and the H+ Hotel Ried.
