Our hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the historic center of Herrenberg. A stroll through the alleyways of the old town takes you to the collegiate church, the town's landmark. The market square is lined with pretty half-timbered houses. You can start your walks in the extensive forests of the Schönbuch directly from our hotel. A hike lasting several hours takes you to Bebenhausen Abbey, which was founded in the 12th century and is well worth a visit.
A highlight for many of our hotel guests is a visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Exhibits such as the world's first automobile or the bus of the 1974 German World Cup team are an experience not only for technology fans. Wilhelma, the large zoological and botanical garden, provides a contrasting program. You can spend a whole day here and in the neighboring Rosenstein Park with the State Museum of Natural History.
Art lovers are drawn to the Staatsgalerie with its remarkable exhibitions. Anyone interested in history should pay a visit to the Württemberg State Museum. The main shopping area in Stuttgart is Königstraße. The market hall, where Stuttgart producers and traders have been selling their goods since 1914, is also worth a visit.
Mercedes-Benz Museum
The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is the only museum that gives visitors a complete insight into the 125-year history of the automotive industry. One of the outstanding exhibits is a car belonging to Kaiser Wilhelm II.
Excursions in the surrounding area
Just a few kilometers from the H+ Hotel Stuttgart Herrenberg is the university town of Tübingen with its fully preserved historic town center. From here you can drive further south and visit the famous Hohenzollern Castle near Hechingen. A hike in the Swabian Alb is worthwhile at any time of year.
If you drive in the opposite direction, you will reach the Northern Black Forest vacation region in just a few minutes. Places worth seeing such as Calw, the birthplace of Hermann Hesse, and the natural landscape are perfect for day trips from our hotel.
Black Forest
The Black Forest is the largest contiguous low mountain range in Germany. The region is for the most part very rural and is made up of many small communities, many of which maintain their own traditions and customs.
While extensive hiking trails and cycle routes invite you to explore the forest and mountain landscape in spring, summer and fall, there is a wide range of winter sports on offer in the region during the cold season. You can also relax in one of the many thermal baths.
The old town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber
The medieval old town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber brings back the charm of the past. Surrounded by picturesque places such as the historic market square and the town hall, you can immerse yourself in another century. The Markusturm tower with the Röderbogen arch is a landmark of the town and provides interesting insights from a completely different perspective. The castle gate and city walls also create images that are aware of their uniqueness.
ChocolArt chocolate market in Tübingen
ChocolArt is the largest chocolate festival in Germany, which has been held once a year in Tübingen for more than 10 years. The spectacle is a feast for the palate for all chocolate lovers and fans of the cocoa bean.
More than 100 top international chocolatiers from North and South America, Africa and Europe travel to the picturesque backdrop of Tübingen's old town to present their exquisite chocolate creations. Herrenberg collegiate church - the "Glucke"
In Herrenberg, a historic old town with lovingly renovated half-timbered houses and time-honored buildings invites you to take a stroll. Herrenberg's landmark is the collegiate church. Due to its dominant position on the hillside, the late Gothic hall church is also known by locals as the "Glucke".
You can reach the church on foot from the H+ Hotel Stuttgart Herrenberg in around ten minutes.
Stuttgart television tower - landmark of the state capital
The 216-metre-high telecommunications and observation tower was opened in 1956 and represents a new era in tower construction, both structurally and architecturally. It is also one of Germany's cultural monuments.
It is around a 35-minute drive from the H+ Hotel Stuttgart Herrenberg.
Staatsgalerie Stuttgart - multifaceted art exhibition
The art museum is one of the most visited museums in Germany. On display are works of European art from the 14th to 21st centuries as well as American avant-garde art after 1945. There are also regular special exhibitions.

"Wilhelma" - botanical-zoological garden
"Wilhelma" is home to around 11,500 animals and 6,000 plant species from all over the world. The 30-hectare site is integrated into the historic palace grounds in the Bad Cannstatt district, which is around 40 minutes' drive from the H+ Hotel Stuttgart Herrenberg.
The Ludwigsburg Residential Palace
As one of the largest Baroque palaces in Germany and one of the Baroque buildings in Europe that is still largely preserved in its original state, Ludwigsburg Palace is definitely worth a visit. Not only do two centuries come together here in breathtaking state rooms. The former splendor of the Baroque period through to Rococo and Classicism can also be felt here. Princely apartments, museums and a palace theater that is second to none also amaze visitors.
Hohenzollern Castle as magnificent proof of royal and imperial dignity
The castle is the ancestral seat of the Prussian royal family and the Princes of Hohenzollern and in the past saw a wealth of power and splendor that is almost unparalleled. The Middle Ages and the Renaissance are palpably alive here at a falconry show or a traditional theater performance in the old walls of the castle. The royal and imperial regalia are an enchanting element that still fascinates visitors.
Stuttgart Market Hall
The Stuttgart Market hall goes back to the plans of architect Martin Elsässer. It was built for three years on the site of a former vegetable market and finally inaugurated on January 1, 1914 and again in 1953 after reconstruction following severe destruction during the Second World War. Since then, it has once again been the most important food market in Stuttgart. There are 43 stands on a sales area of approx. 5000 m². Exotic and conventional fruit and vegetables, poultry, meat, fish, various bars and much more can be found at any time of year.
