From many of our guests, a tour of the city starts at the cathedral, the undisputed main landmark of the city. From there, you can wander through the old part of the city and discover the many sights. This includes Cologne City Hall with its imposing tower or the Gürzenich, a concert hall that is still used today, particularly during the carnival. There are many spots in Cologne where you can still see the remains of the Roman fortifications, such as the Roman Tower. The Roman German museum, right next to the cathedral, offers an excellent insight into the city’s history.

The pedestrian zone in Hohe Straße and Schildergasse is the key shopping area in Cologne. Just north of the old part of the city lies Cologne Zoo. A tip: Take a trip from the zoo over the Rhine in the cable car; it’s a fantastic experience with plenty of stunning photo opportunities. The RheinEnergieStadion, where 1. FC Köln plays for points, as well as the Lanxess Arena, home to the Kölner Haie as well as the location for concerts of international artists, are easy to reach from the H+ Hotel Köln Hürth.
